Project 365 | Day 51

I want to warn you…the photo you are about to see may be disturbing…

Laundry.  Hate it.  I am sure many do, so I am not claiming to be the all time laundry hater…but it is right up there with cleaning the bathroom.  My totally rad hubby and I had a short conversation today that I wanted to share.  I was sorting 10,000 pieces of clothing that I swore I sorted 3 days ago (how can that stuff grow is what I want to know) and he asked if there was anything I needed before he went out to work on some things in the garage. It went like this:

TRH: You need anything?

Me: Yeah.  Someone to do laundry and clean the bathroom.

TRH:  So…you want me to get a wife?

It was so good…so perfect a statement that I actually gave him props.  I continued sorting…and ended up with the photo below.  At least I have paths to get to the folded clean clothes.  Jeeze.

Project 365 | Day 50

I’m Back…back in the saddle again…

Oh forgive me…I am in rare form tonight.  Had a great time with friends and my boys at Henry Ford Museum, came home and made an awesome dinner and am now enjoying my evening hearing fingers sifting through 10,000 Legos…

I am a lover of Lego’s.  I used to buy Lego sets for my boys when they were 2 and 4 years old so i could put them together.  I am not joking.  Broke my heart when they smashed them to pieces…but I would just build them again.  My boys grew to love them too.  They are always creating space ships, homes and cars or trucks.  So, it was no surprise that after we visited the Lego exhibit at the museum that they wanted to come strait home and mess with their own Legos.  They decided to sort them.  Not in their room, or in the basement, but In the middle of the hallway.  The hallway we need to walk through to get to our room at night.  10,000 legos poured onto the floor…so…they…could…sort…them.

Right.  I seriously hope my feet don’t find any of these in the dark tonight!

I am calling this one “Spike”, as that is what it feels like when you step on one of these things!  This photo only shows a portion of what was on the floor!

Project 353 | Day 49

Did you catch that?  The title I mean?  I have slacked, I know.  I have been very busy the last few days so was unable to get to my daily digest completed.  I am officially 12 days behind.  Or missed 12 days…whichever.  However, I am going to post a sweet little lady after this to make up for it!

On to today’s photo of the day…

Anyone have any little cub scouts?  I have 2.  Well, one is officially “crossing over” to becoming a boyscout this week.  Today we decorated their Arrow’s for their Arrow of Light award.  Each color and width of tape displays his achievements throughout his journey of cub scouting. These arrows are actually for his whole den (6 boys) and each arrow is decorated with each boys achievements.   He is pretty excited.

Project 365 | Day 43

This week my boys’ school is celebrating Spirit Week.  I LOVED Spirit week when I was in high school.  PJ days…backwards days…dress up days…and of course the beloved Crazy Hair Day.  This year our new principal was awesome enough to include crazy hair day in the week of themed days.  He obviously has no fear.  I saw kids walking into school with spikes, Mohawks, cone heads (really, a little girl with a cone-shaped do that stood at least a foot off her head!), colored hair…oh…and some with a number of various sized and shaped pony tails (this one was a boy, lol).

It was fun to see them all.  However…the real fun was creating the stand on end do’s.  Later I will post a pic of all the product I was using.  lol…my hubs walked into the bathroom and asked what happened.

You get a 2-fer today.  I had to show both their heads for this one!

Project 365 | Day 41

This, my friends, is my two boys taking apart a minibike.  I forget the story…it is either my husbands from when he was a kid, or a friends’ from when they were kids…anyway…apparently it is now a project for my boys. (all 3 of them, lol)  I think my hubby is more excited about it then they are.

They are going to paint it blue, they say.  With silver wheels.  Oh..Ford Blue, to be exact.  I dunno.  I am sure I can get at least one flower on there…you think?

Project 365 | Day 38

Have you ever looked around the room your in?  I mean, really looked?  I was standing in my office taking it all in and happened to come across some Thanksgiving items left on a shelf.  We have all done it…put away the holiday decor only to find the wreath still hanging on the door…or a trinket sitting on a shelf.  Thing is…these have been on this shelf for…oh…probably 3 years.  Its the cutest dang turkey any little person could make. Even down to the tiny little feet glued to the bottom.  I don’t know which of my boys made it…bit it was perfect.  Perfect enough to keep out all year.

Project 365 | Day 37

Lets face it.  Boys love playing with cars.  From the time they are old enough to sit on a ride on car, until…well, pretty much forever.  My boys go through stages with their toys.  As soon as my husband mentions “they don’t even play with their cars” the boys turn around and play with them for weeks…at least. And they were not even in the house when he made the comment.

So this photo was taken after I heard some commotion down in the basement.  My kids and a friend were “yay’ing” and “awe-manning”…then I heard “give me the money”.  What? Then I swear I heard “place your bets, this race is 75.00″.  Huh?  Yeah. They were placing money bets (with their play money) on whose car would win.  Don’t know where they got the idea…but they were doing it well…My Runs with Wampum was in the lead.

Project 365 | Day 36

Boys.  Love them to pieces.  I love that they are enthusiastic over dirt, sticks, rocks and slimy fish.  I love that they want to use their metal detector to find “gold” in our back yard. And boy…you should see the treasures they have found. lol.  I would really love it if they filled those darned holes back in too…that’s for another day…

My boys received a crystal making kit for Christmas Eve and were all over it Christmas Day.  Serious crystal making…they even wore their eye protection.  I should have taken photos now that I think about it…  Ah well.  Here is one of their creations…their treasures.

I will call it “Gold”.

Project 365 | Day 35

I went shopping a couple days ago.  Not for anything in particular (which is a bad thing when you walk into Hobby Lobby). Two and a half hours later and a wallet weighing a lot less, I walk out wondering what just happened.  I bought yarn.  I don’t knit.  I bought a rolled up mess of material.  I don’t sew (much).  Ribbon?  Oh, I will use that on baby girls when I photograph them…got that covered.  Drawer pulls.  I bought 2.  I don’t have anything with 2 drawers.  It’s like they spray something in there that makes you believe that you need things.

I did get some things that will look great when I use them in upcoming sessions so it was not a total loss…but I really have a handful of items that I may never use, and am left scratching my head.  I would return them, but it would lead to me shopping once more, bringing home yet other items that may or may not be useful.

This one is titled “I don’t knit”.
